Statement on behalf of UEFA and its 55 national associations

UEFA and its 55 national associations have unanimously rejected FIFA’s proposal to transfer ownership interests in the World Cup and other FIFA competitions to private investors. The European football body stated that no UEFA national teams will participate in any FIFA competition as long as these proposals remain active, unless they are abandoned entirely and binding assurances are given that FIFA will not open its governance or competitions to private ownership again.
